Everything That Was Stuck Inside Me

My body warned me.

Of course it did. Our bodies always do.

First, I stopped paying attention to what I was eating. Then I forgot to drink enough water. Eventually, my stomach shut down. Not all at once—but little by little, until it simply stopped working.

As I searched for the physical reasons behind it and the lessons my body was trying to teach me, I realized I had been ignoring something just as important: the emotional, psychological, and even spiritual reasons.

While I spent the day at home dealing with physical pain, those other layers reminded me of the kinds of suffering that don't live only in the body. They live in the heart. In the mind. In the soul. In all the invisible parts of us that shape our lives.

Beyond food and dehydration...

What else was stuck inside me?

Many philosophies and spiritual traditions suggest that pain—and the redemption that can follow it—often reveals some of life's deepest truths.

For me, that was exactly what happened.

I realized there was something still lodged in my heart.

I had divorced less than a year ago, and although life had moved on, part of my heart hadn't. Some hurt was still there, quietly trying to make sense of everything that had happened.

There was something stuck in my mind, too.

As everything in life is connected, I realized I was still mentally blocked—not only because of the divorce, but because I had moved back to my home country after living abroad for more than twenty-one years. I was trying to rebuild a life, rediscover who I was, and find a community where I truly belonged.

That realization changed something. I made myself a promise. I would begin releasing everything that had become stuck—emotionally, mentally, spiritually, creatively.

The moment I became aware of those blockages, they no longer deserved to stay.

They deserved to be free.

Writing was one of those things. For too long, my ideas had remained trapped inside my head. So I came back to the page. To honor my ancestors. To honor my father, who loved writing and passed that gift on to me.

From this day forward, nothing stays trapped inside.

Not my words.

Not my emotions.

Not my dreams.

It's done. I'm ready to create.

To write.

To build.

To reconnect.

To follow the path that has been quietly calling me all along.
